The Cultural Advisor of the Republic of Iraq in Iran visited Baqir al-Olum Univeristy in order to get acquainted with the capacities and capabilities of this University and to study the fields of expanding international cooperation.
According to the public relations of Baqir al-Olum University, Amjad Mozaffar, "Cultural Advisor of the Republic of Iraq in Iran" attended the university in order to study the areas of expanding scientific and academic cooperation, exchange professors and also attract non-Iranian students, and became closely acquainted with educational, research and service capacities.
After his visit to different sections of Baqir al-Olum University, in a joint meeting with the president and vice-chancellors of the university, the various capabilities and capacities of the university as well as the fields of expanding scientific cooperation with Arabic-speaking countries, especially Iraq, were examined.
The Iraqi Cultural Advisor in Iran, while appreciating for the warm and cordial hospitality, considered this university as one of the top and most successful Iranian universities in the fields of humanities and Islamic sciences, and expressed hope that the university will be provided with opportunities for expanding scientific and international relations with Iraqi universities as soon as possible.
Amjad Muzaffar also explained the process of including the name of Baqir al-Olum University in the list of universities approved by the Iraqi Ministry of Science, and stressed that with the cooperation of the Iraqi Cultural Counselor in Iran, this process will be finished as soon as possible.
Shamsullah Mariji, the president of Baqir al-Olum University, while welcoming, expressed hope that this visit will be the beginning of extensive scientific and cultural cooperation, and considered the many commonalities and cultural relations between Iran and Iraq as the basis for this relationship.
Emphasizing that the policy of Baqir al-Olum University is elitism and quality, he said that the aim of this university is to increase cultural and scientific interactions and share the sciences produced in the field of humanities and Islam with Islamic countries.
In the end, the two sides discussed the fields and strategies for expanding scientific-cultural cooperation.
